What we collect when you enquire or book, and what happens to it.
This page needs the owner’s review before launch. The structure below is correct but the specifics must be confirmed against how STEAM AND POOL actually handles guest data and bookings. Do not publish it as legal text without checking it.
What we collect
This website has no enquiry form. If you contact us by WhatsApp or telephone we receive whatever you choose to tell us there. If you book, your reservation and payment details are collected and held by Zotel, our booking system. This website never receives or stores card details.
Why we hold it
Solely to answer your enquiry and manage your stay. We do not sell guest data. We do measure which of our advertisements lead to enquiries, as described under Analytics and advertising below.
Analytics and advertising
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and understand which pages people read. It records things like the pages you view, roughly where in the world you are, the type of device you use, and which link brought you here. It does not record your name, email address or anything you type.
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to recognise a repeat visit. We have switched on IP anonymisation, so your full IP address is not stored, and we have switched off Google’s advertising signals, so nothing collected here is used to target ads at you.
You can opt out entirely by installing Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on, by blocking cookies for this site in your browser settings, or by using your browser’s private browsing mode.
This site also uses the Meta Pixel, from the company that owns Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. It is here for one purpose: when we advertise on Instagram, it tells Meta whether an advertisement led to a real enquiry rather than only a click, so we are not paying to reach people with no interest in staying with us.
What it reports is the fact that someone tapped WhatsApp, tapped the phone number, opened the booking page, or submitted the date form — along with which part of the page they tapped it from. It does not report your name, your phone number, your message, or anything you type. The Meta Pixel sets its own cookies and Meta may connect this activity to your Facebook or Instagram account if you have one.
You can limit this in your Facebook or Instagram settings under Off-Facebook activity, or block it here by declining cookies for this site in your browser settings or by using private browsing mode. Blocking it does not affect anything on this website.
Who else sees it
Zotel processes bookings and payments. Google Analytics receives the usage data described above. Meta receives the advertising measurement data described above. Google Maps is embedded on the contact page and sets its own cookies when loaded. WhatsApp messages you send us are carried by Meta under their own terms.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept while the conversation is active and for a reasonable period afterwards. Booking records are retained by Zotel under their own retention policy.
Your choices
Write to us at the phone number or WhatsApp on the contact page to ask what we hold about you, or to ask us to delete it.
